Birthday Weekend

I have a throat infection.

Yesterday it hurt to breathe, talk, and especially swallow. The back of my throat and tongue were so similar it reminded me of an allergic reaction. By the time I got home, I cried from the pain and was miserable. I barely slept because my ear hurt so badly, and again. swallowing was a huge issue.

Luckily, I woke up feeling a lot better. I have some minor pain and a bit of a cough but, ultimately, better.

It's disappointing because it is my birthday weekend and I had organized a party for tonight. I'm relieved now though that I got a day of rest to recover, I can't even imagine having a party right now. I'm in no mood because of how tired I am, and it all seems overwhelming. This infection really got me.

I'm blessed enough to have a lot of people who care about me though. I marathoned Vampire Diaries with my mom, and then got a phonecall from Leigh saying she'd be over in five. She brought me a birthday gift, tea, and soup! It was lovely. I love her. We then went for froyo with Care.

I was supposed to go to the movies with Care tonight, but she cancelled. At first I was disappointed, but I am really happy I didn't go out. It's been nice staying in bed all day.

Tomorrow will be exciting though. Care, Leigh, Kaitlyn and I are going to meet up in Toronto and have a day of wandering/shopping. I'm hoping to make an artsy video out of it.

I skyped J for almost two hours. Initially, I was only showing him how cute Pan looked cuddled up to me, but then we started talking. It was a really fun time. He said some really nice things to me today. Like how he feels guilty that he hasn't been making me feel like the world is mine this past week, and that he can't be taking care of me. Just nice things. He's such a nice boy. We are going to the Distillery District next weekend for my birthday/date, I'm fairly excited for it. I'm also meeting his friends on Friday night next week... so I'm nervous about that but I'm sure I'll be fine. I find it really easy to make friends.

Overall, I'm really happy. Just super happy with my life.
